Sorry — you have missed this conference.
However, you can still order the papers from the event (see below).
Conference Overview
Thursday January 31st 2008
Cavendish Conference Centre, Central London
Housing policy has risen to the top of the political agenda recently. The Government’s pledge to supply three million more homes by 2020 in the housing Green Paper ‘Homes for the Future: more affordable, more sustainable’ aims to tackle the mismatch between the supply and demand for housing. The Green Paper includes a number of proposals, such as financial incentives for local authorities to deliver higher levels of housing, an £8 billion programme for affordable housing and a review of the mortgage market.
By bringing together a wide range of practitioners from both private and public sectors, this conference will take a comprehensive survey of the proposals and the effect that the Government’s policy might have. Our wide range of speakers, including the keynote address from Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP, will provide your organisation with a unique insight into the proposals, reviews of home building both public and private, mortgage financing and also exploring innovative approaches to generate more affordable housing without Government assistance.
